Editorial policy
Readers use our guides to make real decisions with real money, so we take accuracy seriously. This page explains how we work.
Our standards
- Useful first. Every guide should help you make a better booking decision. If a page doesn't do that, we rewrite it or remove it.
- Honest about uncertainty. Prices, fees, opening times and entry rules change. Rather than print figures that will quickly go out of date, we explain what to check and where.
- No fabrication. We don't invent reviews, quotes, testimonials, hotel names or personal experiences.
- Original writing. Every guide on this site is newly written by our editors.
How we research
We use official sources wherever possible: national and city tourism boards, government travel advice, transport operators, cruise lines' and hotels' own published policies, and consumer-rights bodies. Where rules depend on your nationality or circumstances, we say so and point you to the official source.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was last updated. We review guides regularly and whenever we learn that something has changed. If you spot a mistake, email hello@globalhoteldiscount.com - we check every report and correct errors promptly.
Commercial independence
Our editors decide what to cover and recommend. Partner commissions (see our affiliate disclosure) never decide what we say, and we don't accept payment for positive coverage. Any sponsored content in the future will be clearly labelled as such.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help with research, drafting and proofreading. Everything is checked against our standards above before it is published, and we take full responsibility for every page on this site.
